C.D. Smith Construction provided General Contracting services for the Eleventh Addition to the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant, consisting of the construction of new facilities at the existing plant site, including new Digesters No. 8 and No.9, with associated Sludge Control Building No.3 and Solids Tunnel 3, a new Struvite Harvesting Building to house a phosphorus recovery process, WAS Blend Tanks Nos. 1 and 2, a WAS Thickening/Building with associated WAS Gallery for a new sludge thickening system, Acid Digesters Nos. 1 and 2, with associated process heating systems, and a new Sludge Control Building No. 1.
The project also included modifications to existing facilities in east and west digester complexes, GBT Building, Solids Tunnel No. 2 and other miscellaneous site modifications. The work also includes demolition, site work improvements, piping modifications, HVAC, electrical, instrumentation/controls, and other ancillary work required to accomplish the modifications.
