In mid-January 2026, C.D. Smith Construction hosted its 5th annual Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) bed build, bringing employees, youth apprentices and community volunteers together around a shared purpose: ensuring kids in our community have a safe, warm place to sleep.
The timing mattered. At the start of the build, the local SHP chapter had run out of beds. Volunteers stepped in to help restock quickly during one of the coldest stretches of the year.
