C.D. Smith Construction is pleased to share that Norbert “Norb” Schmidt has joined C.D. Smith Construction as President, reporting directly to CEO Justin Smith.
Norb brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience from respected global organizations, including Kohler Co. and Whirlpool Corporation. Most recently, he served as President of Kitchen & Bath Americas at Kohler, where he led the company’s largest business with a strong focus on growth, operational excellence, customer experience, and talent development.
Norb’s connection to our industry began early. He grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and spent his summers working alongside his father in the mechanical contracting trades. These experiences helped shape his respect for the skilled trades and the pride that goes into building work that lasts.
He holds engineering degrees from Purdue University and the University of Michigan, an Executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Marvin, a family-owned window and door manufacturer.
As President, Norb will add to our leadership capacity while preserving what defines C.D. Smith: our culture, our craftsmanship, and the way we serve our clients and partners. His addition supports our continued growth and long-term commitment to delivering exceptional results across every project.
