C.D. Smith was awarded construction management services for a new chapel at Camp Vista, a recreational and educational Christian campground in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. The original building was built in 1972 and destroyed in a devastating fire that consumed the sanctuary in October 2018.
Located in the heart of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, the owner wanted to minimize the building’s footprint and not disrupt the area’s landscape.
The new chapel features open, exposed wood beams in the sanctuary with stone wall accents and ample natural lighting, creating a bright and natural space for the congregation to worship. A choir loft above the pews allows for an ideal acoustic environment. A full kitchen and 2,281 SF fellowship hall also provide space for large group gatherings.
“What was once a hole in the ground and a hole in the hearts of many, has been filled with the construction of this beautiful structure,” said Andrew Fidziukiewicz, Camp Manager. "The success of this project is largely thanks to our collaboration with C.D. Smith Construction. They got the job done and did it right."
