As fall quickly becomes winter, Whitney School Lofts is rapidly approaching occupancy as the nationally registered historic school turned apartment complex is set to be complete January 1. The 39,339 SF building will feature 23 units and is now signing lease contracts for tenants to move in at the start of 2020.

Located near downtown Green Bay, Whitney School was built in 1918 and named after one of Green Bay’s founding fathers—Daniel Whitney. Located less than six miles from three major universities, within seven miles of five parks, twenty miles from Austin Straubel International Airport and within walking distance of Olde Town Crossing shops, this truly is a charming place to call home in Green Bay.

Currently, the terrazzo corridors of the building are being refinished. Hardwood flooring is being installed throughout the building and each unit’s cabinets are in place. Doors have been painted and are ready for installation the first week of November. The interior of each unit will be furnished with appliances, set to be installed the beginning of next month.

Each unit ranges from 700 to 1,000 SF. Tenants have the option of a green space view or a view of scenic Webster Avenue with 1 bedroom/1 bathroom, 2 bedroom/1.5 bathroom or 2 bedroom/2 bathroom layouts. Since the building is over 100 years old, much of the design includes an old school charm, including 12 foot ceilings, limestone accents and subway tile.

Each of the 23 units feature large 9’ windows, however, there is one unit with a bedroom that does not have exterior windows. In order to open the space and let more light into the apartment, windows were cut in the interior wall of the apartment to create a more “open concept” feel throughout.

The apartment complex features a first-floor internet café, outdoor common area and fitness center overlooking what was the school's original gymnasium with mezzanine seating. The units themselves feature high-speed internet access, an in-unit washer/dryer and air conditioning. The apartment complex is also pet-friendly, requiring only a small deposit to bring a furry friend.

Phase two of the project will include the construction of luxury townhomes adjacent from the Whitney School location. Construction is set to start in the fall of 2020.
