Safety Month Kickoff

Today kicks off national safety month. Every June, organizations across the United States observed the month-long celebration of safety.

Safety is an essential part of our lives, whether we are working on a job or at home. This year the National Safety Council will be focusing on topics including mental health, ergonomics, building a safety culture and driving.

Follow our "Beneath The Hard Hat" blog for tips and insights from C.D. Smith Safety Inspectors, Joel Schrage and Brad O'Conner. Throughout the month, Joel and Brad will be sharing safety tips to help you on the job and at home. 

June is also a great time to catch up on annual safety items such as:

• Practicing safety drills with your coworkers and family.
• Checking to make sure your first aid is fully stocked in your home and your car.
• Testing your fire and carbon monoxide alarms throughout your house and replacing batteries.
• Bringing your vehicle into a mechanic for a thorough annual safety inspection.
