Ascent MKE
C.D. Smith was hired as the construction manager to oversee the sitework, core, shell and MEP trades for Ascent, the 25-story timber frame tower on East Kilbourn Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. The 284-foot tower, with its upper floors comprised of manufactured wood structural beams, columns and floor decks rather than steel or concrete, broke the world record for mass timber buildings.
The tower primarily serves as housing, with 259 apartments boasting high-end finishes and spectacular views. In addition to an indoor pool and fitness center on level seven, the 25th floor features numerous indoor and outdoor amenities. From the game room to the skyline lounge bar to the outdoor movie screen, residents of all ages and interests can enjoy this space.
A lower-level parking garage provides parking for 335 vehicles. Ascent’s ground-floor retail space, featuring dramatic 14-foot ceilings, will open up to Van Buren Street.
