IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

Everybody knows what ice is! It’s something slippery, fishing enthusiasts look forward to it in the winter and it cools your favorite drink. But there is a different type of “ICE” that not everybody is familiar with. ICE stands for ‘IN CASE OF EMERGENCY’ and can even be life-saving. ⁣ ⁣

“ICE” has increasingly been used as an emergency technique to help medical professionals connect with emergency contacts for people involved in accidents or medical emergencies where they are unresponsive. Essentially, it’s having your emergency medical contacts on speed dial. According to the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), paramedics, nurses and doctors are building their awareness to search for an “ICE” number in a patient’s phone to contact when needed.⁣ ⁣

ICE contacts may include:⁣
  • Parents
  • Spouse
  • Siblings
  • Close family member/friend who is familiar with medical needs ⁣ ⁣
In a life or death situation where time matters, having one or two ICE contacts could save a life. The average person, old or young, has hundreds of contacts on their phone. We challenge you to add one, two or even three ICE contacts. It may be the difference-maker in your life and it takes only seconds. Show your commitment to focusing on important safety practices for your family and those who care about you.⁣
