Kewaskum Community Center Demolition Bash & Construction Groundbreaking
The Village of Kewaskum recently held a demolition bash and groundbreaking event to celebrate the start of construction for a new Community Building.
CATCH UP QUICK: The existing municipal building is too small and lacks essential amenities to be sufficient. Though grateful for the facility that has served the community well for the past 75 years, the police department has outgrown the space. Discussions about a new Village Hall began in 2019. After years of planning, the project is finally underway.
THE BIG PICTURE: The new government center will contain the village hall, the police department and the library. Demolishing the old government center will make way for a new community building with enough space for civic and government organizations to provide the best service to its people. This thoughtfully designed facility will serve the community for years to come.
WHY IT MATTERS: The Village of Kewaskum's demolition and groundbreaking celebration signifies the beginning of a new chapter that moves Kewaskum forward. In the spirit of progress and community development, the demolition/reconstruction kickoff symbolizes innovation and unity that makes the community proud to call Kewaskum home.
BUILDING THE FUTURE: The event culminated with ceremonial demolition and groundbreaking photos with Village Board members and representatives from the Kewaskum Police Department, Police & Fire Commission, C.D. Smith Construction and Excel Engineering. All parties expressed their excitement about collaborating on this project to ensure that Kewaskum has a government center equipped to serve its growing community today and for future generations.
