When constructing the new Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Building, J.W. Speaker wanted to provide a technologically sophisticated, yet appealing work environment for their employees. True to their industrial history, the new building brings an open office concept that blends naturally into a working production facility. Exposed mechanicals throughout
the production floor and office spaces give way to a modern industrial aesthetic.
The SMT building project had an aggressive timeline to construct 52,400 square feet of manufacturing and office space. A collaborative approach was essential. Dedicated to the project’s success, the team rallied together. Through precise planning, transparent communication and healthy accountability, the team met the rigorous nine-month schedule.
