When you talk about healthcare construction at C.D. Smith, the Leonard family comes to mind.
Retired now, Mike Leonard still talks about his years working for C.D. Smith in the healthcare industry.
"I was involved in construction for 25 years. I worked on just about every type of healthcare facility you can imagine during my career. Establishing relationships with owners and hospital boards was one of my favorite parts of the work. I enjoyed meeting the challenges of this unique market and building the experience to lead others in the trade," comments Mike.
"Leonards fish and hunt together, but we also work together," Mike continues. "My two sons, Andy and Matt, both work for C.D. Smith and have extensive experience as site superintendents working in healthcare."
Both Andy Leonard and Matt Leonard were instrumental in the construction of the Beaver Dam clinic, among many other projects in their healthcare portfolio. Currently, Matt is working on a cardiac catheterization lab addition and renovation.
Mike's grandson, Matt and Andy's nephew, Eli Leonard, recently joined the C.D. Smith family as an intern while he finishes his schooling at Fox Valley Technical College.

"My goal is to follow in the family footsteps and stay on full time at C.D. Smith after I graduate," says Eli.
Three generations of Leonards have found working for C.D. Smith gratifying and have chosen lifelong careers in the trades.
