C.D. Smith recently completed a new addition to the Green Bay Packaging Folding Carton Facility in DePere, Wisconsin.
The addition expands Green Bay Packaging's footprint and offers a cutting-edge workspace. It features a climate-controlled environment and team member amenities to attract and retain the best and brightest talent.
The offices feature floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light, a gym with state-of-the-art equipment, a locker room with showers, a break room with a kitchenette and meeting spaces with technology for in-person and virtual attendance and learning.
A viewing platform runs the length of the building's second story for customers and employees to view manufacturing and storage areas.
C.D. Smith’s Virtual Design + Construction (VDC) team collaborated with all stakeholders remotely to coordinate the project model's design and equipment placement.
Data was shared via mobile device to communicate the scope of work and loaded into robotic stations for precise field layout. Interactive model analysis software was used to monitor material quantities and budget throughout the project to inform decision-making and stay on schedule and budget.
For years, Green Bay Packaging has been a champion of the environment, incorporating recycled fiber into their production process. The building's addition reflects the company's ongoing commitment to sustainability.
The Daily Reporter honored Green Bay Packaging with a 2022 Top Projects award for outstanding construction project of the year.
