When was the last time you changed your HVAC filter? Having a HVAC filter schedule and changing screens routinely is an important task that slips the minds of many homeowners. If you're asking yourself, "how important is it?" Then you should also ask yourself how important is the health of my family?

Sticking to a schedule and changing your HVAC filter on a regular basis will benefit your home with better air quality by filtering dust, pet dander and pollen. Additionally, improved home air quality can help individuals with the effects of asthma.

With a less expensive fiberglass filter, it's recommended you change your filter every 30 days. However, when using a high-end pleated filter, you can typically go up-to six months between screens, depending on the size of your home and the number of pets you may have.

No matter what you decide, a clean filter allows clean air to flow throughout your home better with less restriction.  In return, this will result in less maintenance on your HVAC unit and lower energy bills.

To help you remember to change your filter on time, consider using an online store with reoccurring purchases set up. Your filter will be delivered right to your doorstep and provide a reminder to change out your filter.
