Our field personnel have received Healthcare Construction Certification (HCC) through the Wisconsin Healthcare Engineering Association (WHEA) which includes Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measure (ILSM) training. Our team understands the intricacies and specialty of building for healthcare.

Our team’s commitment to healthcare construction enables us to build facilities that keep patients, visitors and providers “well” long after construction. When building SSM Health Dean Medical Group and Fond du Lac Regional Clinic in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, we focused on standards for WELL certification.
The original two-story medical facility constructed during Phase I houses primary and specialty care offices, imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services. Exam rooms, provider areas, meeting rooms and common healing spaces were all designed with comfort and social distancing top of mind.
Phase II involved the build-out of a physical therapy suite. The building was occupied so our work was done without interrupting services. How? Traffic through occupied spaces was limited to contain the construction area. Temporary wall panel systems were used to create an anteroom access point. Anterooms provide a buffer to protect occupied spaces while allowing tradespeople to safely enter and exit the construction area. The temporary walls were used in conjunction with a temporary ventilation system to create a negative air environment that directs construction contaminants to the exterior of the building. Air quality was a crucial focus and pressure was monitored 24/7, allowing the project team to maintain air quality at specified levels at all times.
