C.D. Smith provided construction management services to The School District of North Fond du Lac Friendship Learning Center. Self-performed work for the project included concrete, masonry, steel, precast, demolition and carpentry.

The school was designed to include the World of Friendship. The project includes 4 new learning lands that serve as class levels, a 3-station field house, new support offices and a great new entrance. The original Friendship Learning Center was renovated to house early childhood - 1st grade students as well the home for a new music room, new art room, expanded lunch area, District Offices and an indoor early childhood playing area.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Tours Celebrate New Additions and Renovations at Bessie Allen Middle School and Horace Mann High School | 08.21.2024

📣 On Wednesday, August 21, the School District of North Fond du Lac, along with representatives fromBray Architects and C.D. Smith Construction, joined NFDL Board Members, students and the community for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration at Horace Mann High School and Bessie Allen Middle School.

WHY IT MATTERS | 🎓 These additions, renovations, and improvements fulfill a capital referendum supported by the NFDL community. The goal? To expand capacity for a growing student population and create modern learning environments that foster collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

CATCH-UP QUICK | 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️ The upgrades include:

» Horace Mann High School: Expanded cafeteria/commons and food servery, enhanced weight and wrestling rooms, and new classroom/collaboration spaces.

» Bessie Allen Middle School: New classrooms and renovated hallways to further enrich the learning environment.

🎉 We’re proud to have collaborated with Bray Architects as the construction manager and excited to celebrate and help kick off the 2024-2025 school year in these new spaces.

🏗️ On October 4, 2023, stakeholders from Bray Architects, C.D. Smith Construction, and the School District of North Fond du Lac gathered to break ground on construction for Bessie Allen Middle School and Horace Mann High School.

👷‍♀️👷‍♂️ CATCH-UP QUICK: Additions and expansions to the high school and middle school include:

» Horace Mann High School: Cafeteria addition, weight room addition, and classroom/collaboration addition.

» Bessie Allen Middle School: Classroom addition to further expand the learning environments.
