Corporate Construction Meets Sustainability: A Case Study of The Grove Innovation Center
Schneider National took a bold step with their new collaboration space, The Grove Innovation Center, located adjacent to their Green Bay headquarters. Spanning 20,759 square feet, The Grove is designed as a living room-style space that fosters creativity and productivity among Schneider's 20,000+ team members worldwide.
“We’ve created a hub where employees and vendors can convene, fostering the delivery of Schneider's mission statement: safe, courteous hustling associates delivering superior experiences that excite customers,” comments Glenn Buntin.
Amenities include: presentation areas, conference rooms, a food preparation area, movable LED wall and expanded parking facilities. SEFAR glass, installed throughout the center, reduces heat gain and glare, eliminates the need for window treatments, and enhances climate control. The Smartflowers strategically placed around the retention pond have solar panels as petals that open and close, collecting energy used within the building.
A geothermal system was installed. To preserve the trees, teams bored underground to complete this process. This not only enhances the aesthetics of the space but also promotes energy efficiency.
The collaboration between Schneider National and C.D. Smith Construction exemplifies the significance of collaboration.
