Project Overview: Building a Sports Complex in Five Months
Under the skillful construction management of C.D. Smith, the Fond du Lac School District sports complex was open for the first game of the season in August. Built in five months, the 2,300 SF facility features:
• Bleacher Seating for 3,200
• New Turf Football Field
• Soccer Facility
• Track + Field Facility
• Concessions + Restrooms
• Fan Gathering Deck
• And More!
C.D. Smith self-performed all concrete, masonry, rough and finished carpentry. Additionally, C.D. Smith coordinated plumbing, electrical and HVAC, earthwork, synthetic turf, site utilities, landscaping, asphalt, site concrete, curb and gutter, fencing and track re-surfacing.
The stadium was designed with versatility in mind. It offers all students a first-class space to learn, perform and compete. Additionally, the stadium will serve as a hub for community gatherings.
Press Box Precision: A Teamwork Triumph
THE PROCESS: The press box installation play-by-play:
• The massive 20,000-pound structure arrived on a truck and was skillfully maneuvered by C.D. Smith team members.
• With teamwork and attention to detail, the press box was lifted to a height exceeding 28 feet. It was positioned to ensure secure placement on the bleacher platform.
• Following the precise lifting operation, skilled ironworkers seamlessly connected the press box to the bleachers, creating a cohesive structure with guaranteed stability.
• The dedication and expertise of an experienced team resulted in flawless execution, underscoring the importance of preconstruction planning and effective communication throughout the project.
